Is that a limited edition, one-sided Wolf Eyes LP in your pocket? Or are you just happy to see us? Jokes! Ah, noise, it's the stuff that makes music something other than silence, no? And who better to explore the outer reaches of noise than Kim Gordon and her divine ya ya sisterhood of effects pedals? All kidding aside, we're here to tell you that Gordon is participating in the Her Noise exhibition, kicking off today at the South London Gallery.
Gordon, along with 5 other women, will be participating in the event's main exhibit - which, according to the Her Noise website, celebrates female artists "whose practice shares the use of sound as a medium to investigate social relations, inspire action or uncover hidden soundscapes." There will also be performances from the likes of Christina Carter (Charlambides, Scorces), Ana Da Silva (Raincoats) and Spider And The Webs (a new band featuring Alison Wolfe of Bratmobile and Tobi Vail of Bikini Kill). Down with phallocentrism, up with stompboxes!
