We spent all weekend in the beautiful far off land of Carroll Gardens at maybe the craziest concert venue in the state of New York. It's called The Yard, and it's a sort of concert space that is actually a really small field next to a canal with skinny trees all around. It looked like Arkansas and we felt like we were away from the city for the weekend. Half the time we were too relaxed and literally filled with good vibes (boneface) to even notice who was playing, but everyone jammed and there were hot dogs and we bought vinyl because we stay buying music and it feels good to buy heavy records at the end of the day—like maybe a music writer's manual labor is picking up records. Also, some of us got mosquito bites and some of us didn't, but chairs were plentiful and we found some cake on the stairs right before our pals Gang Gang Dance went on. We hope there will be another Social Registry fest next summer, because we'll be there too.
