On The Street: Cedric’s Fashion Week Trend Report, Part I

September 12, 2007

While most fashion folk were busy sipping champers all week, our trend spotter Cedric has been diligently scouring NYC sidewalks for new styles. Here's the the first of a four-part trend report from Fashion Week, as showcased by its best dressed attendees.

Part I:
Black +white+ white+ Black

The Breakdown:

The recent barrage of all-over prints on streetwear has lead style mavens to fight back with a weapon they know best: simple futuristic conceptualism in the form of black and white. Black and white silohuettes conjure the style spirits of old New York City, a magical time when Madonna stomped down Avenue D with Basquiat in tow and the Ramones were regulars at CBGB's on Bowery. Sometimes style has to take a couple steps back to move forward. Die all over prints Die!!!!
