Down in downtown Los Angeles last night we kicked off Detour weekend with the first off our two Hidden Detour parties, all with the super-duper help of Boosted, Vestal and Active. Once the crowd was sufficiently schmoozed, White Williams took the stage with his shy glam pop jams and deep melodica moments. Our suspicions were confirmed, he's great. Next up was Bradford Cox's Atlas Sound project. Though Cox began his set with laptop accompaniment, after two songs he closed the lid and promised to never to do that again in his life. He proceeded on guitar as his Deerhunter bandmate/best friend Lockett Pundt backed him on bass—creating some serious hypno swirls to trail off into during the after midnight hours. Hopefully you'll be there for the second Hidden Detour event tonight, so you can head bang with us to the Ed Banger crew. Bring your neckbrace, one girl did last night!
