Beloved British electronic sensation Max Tundra (also known as Ben Jacobs) likes to make videos the same way that he likes to make music: experimentally and with a hilarious lo-fi midi track supporting his occasional high-pitched vocals. So when we visited a Koreatown karaoke booth with an unlimited amount of midi pop riffs, Jacobs was in his element. From Vanessa Carlton to Queen, he sang his little heart out and only occasionally asked that we get him a glass of water. But the performance that stuck out the most, maybe because it's inauguration day and because the lyrics sublimely seem to work, was Mariah Carey's "Vision of Love." It took so long, still I believed, somehow the one that I needed, would find me eventually. Okay, maybe it's a stretch, but here's Max Tundra wailing it.
