Coming soon on a list of collaborations that probably don't need to exist but are surprisingly fruitful, if only for the mindgarden effect: Milli Vanilli covers Vampire Weekend, the entire cast of Superbad in a music video for Antony and the Johnsons, Will Oldham remixed by Santogold while wearing each other's clothes. And, for one that somehow happened, Diplo, our current cover star for some reason, has remixed The Dead Weather, our current favorite supergroup. "Treat Me Like Your Mother," which has the ring of a filthy song Diplo may have played at some point (and maybe was a runner-up for the name of the Major Lazer album), has been reworked into a total wheezing mess of ideas and bounce. This is like listening to four songs at the same time but only listening with one ear.
