Video: Gentle Friendly, “RIP Static”

November 09, 2009

So maybe we're not particularly psyched on creepy stop motion animation first thing in the morning (seriously music video dudes, it was bad enough having to stomach Tool videos where sand people got plates of skin ripped off their bodies for most of the '90s), but we are psyched on Gentle Friendly. "RIP Static" is mostly repetition, and could actually just be a couple keys held down paired with a constantly repeating chorus, but that is why Gentle Friendly work. Even though this video creeps us out just like anything else involving old-timey puppets, we're still like, Alright lets get the day going! It's sunny and these dudes are transmitting positive vibes all the way from the UK/that weird canyon they maybe recorded this in, and their debut album is out today, which we are totally going to pick up directly from Upset the Rhythm.
