On this treadmill that we call "listening to new music," it's hard to define what qualities a song has to have to make us stop and take note. There are no criteria, actually, can be anything. Yesterday it was The-Dream, today it's a random new band from Toronto, tomorrow it could be dogs barking along to "White Christmas"—our tastes and moods are varied. Mathemagic are said Canadians and "Breaststroke" is just pretty. The guitar loop is like the sun flickering off the sea and the whispered vocals the breeze. The beat is a cold beer THATS WHATS UP. Holy crap do we need a vacation.
