You know, we wouldn't have immediately thought Gui Boratto would be the right remixer for Massive Attack (not even to mention the slow velvet of Hope Sandoval), but then we took a look at the cover of his most recent album, Take My Breath Away—little children standing wearing face masks, unable to smell the daisies at their feet. That's about as beatifically post-apocalyptic as it gets, just like the music of Massive Attack has always been. When these artists were kids they all worried constantly about what would happen to the earth after the sun went out. Now that they're grown, they've become great musicians who still worry about the same thing. This remix of "Paradise Circus," from Massive Attack's Heligoland sounds like they are working on their nerves.
