NYC show godhead Todd P's throwing MTYMX this week, a three-day festival/fun explosion in Monterrey, Mexico, but the NYC show stalwart got some help with the lineup from Rhinoceropolis, an awesome DIY warehouse/show spot in Denver which also happens to be Pictureplane's place of residence. Rhinoceropolis dudes curated a block of bands for Monday that are mostly Denver-based and totally great, as we learned from this little promo minimix of the line-up, including irrefutable jams from Josephine and the Mouse People, Hollagramz, Tearist and a brand new one from Pictureplane. Particularly heart-melting, though, is Gauntlet Hair's "I Was Thinking," which is five minutes of cascading guitar bliss and shivery echoing vocals that sound like the wind blowing through your hair down the open road. Someone needs to put it on a movie soundtrack immediately. That's Gauntlet Hair above, with the head-shadows. Cop the mix below along with Pictureplane's percussive rework of Rainbow Arabia's "Kabukimono."
