The Count & Sinden, “Strange Things (Melé RMX)” MP3

April 02, 2010

Merseyside, England's Melé is the latest signee to Sinden's new label, Grizzly. He is also 17 years old and has been producing for four years. Are we missing something here, maybe a chip that should have been implanted into our brains when we were born that would turn us into insane teenage prodigies? Melé navigates his tracks through sparkling UK funky and 21st century garage, with scraps of other kicky dancefloor styles like dubstep and bassline bleeding through. For "Strange Things," it's almost like he screwed down the untethered drum and bass of the original, letting the vocal sample get low and adding a comparatively slow paced, breezy breakbeat. His next jam, out on Mixpak, will be out in early May, and features remixes from Nadastrom, French Fries and HeavyFeet. Until then, here's another goodie, a dope mix he did that includes some of his fellow best producers in the UK right now.
