Dr. Dog is one of those blessed bands that could bring joy to the bleakest of human occasions: standing in line at the DMV, getting a cavity filled, or wiping up our pet's poop. Luckily the situation that we were put in with the band was the opposite of bleak. We met up at Heathers Bar in the East Village for some impromptu strumming followed by shots of Jameson (or was it Patron?) to celebrate the drummer, Eric's birthday. These guys are pros, they literally just pulled out their instruments and started whaling "Jackie Wants a Black Eye," from the new album Shame, Shame, like they had already sung it a million times, which might actually be the case.
