Whenever singer-songwriter dudes get remixed, their songs usually go from minimal and sparse to basically an entirely new track. It's not necessarily a bad look, but sometimes we're left scratching our heads and wondering if it would have just made more sense for the remixer to just sample the bits he needed to make an entirely new track. Clark speeds up DM Stith's original, keeping some of the mega downer vibes but replaces the funeral march drums with sun dappled guitar licks. It doesn't ever lose sight of the original's intentions, but still manages to go in an entirely new direction.
