The World Cup was rung in with a crazy opening ceremony featuring artists from all around Africa and the rest of the world. We watched with excitement to see something that resembled a jumble of Broadway, standup comedy, quiet cafe performances and Summer Jam—the best kind of vaudeville for a new era. We're not picky about our entertainment, just entertain us. Turned out, in so many different ways, the performers at the opening ceremony all did.
