With the highest of summer heights always comes an equally crushing low—the morning after, the evening spent watching bootleg movies on the TV Guide channel because we can't afford cable, or on rainy July days like this one. When our fists grow tired of all that fist pumping, it's nice to have music like Phosphorescent to coax our dopamine levels back to a stable level, and we've been nursing the occasional summer blues ever since the release of Here's To Taking it Easy back in May on Dead Oceans. The night before the release of the album, Matthew Houck and friends played a free in-store performance featuring some old and new tracks. We caught the patient, hold-your-horses song, "We'll Be Here Soon," at Other Music.
