Stream: Crookers f. Roisin Murphy, “Royal T (House of House RMX)”

July 29, 2010

Roisin Murphy turned in a traditionally euphoric house diva vocal for Crookers' "Royal T," but we just didn't know it until now: through the tweaker lens of Crookers' ADD production, she just sounded like a pop singer. It took House of House's Limelight-invoking piano and studied vocal snips to reveal her for what she really is—the exact chick you wanna hear when you're jamming at a gay club in Chelsea in 1992. So, so good. Also, can we give Roisin credit for predating Gaga's gagaisms? She was wearing architectural costumes and doing performance arty album covers in like, 2004. Also: this hat!
