Brief nerd-out: in Y2K, Big Dada dropped this comp called Extra Yard that completely broke open our minds. A precursor to grime's stateside blowup a few years later, it tried to coin the term "bouncement" to describe is cluster of virile MCs flexing over aggressive UK garage. Clearly the term never took off (proto "funky bashment"?) but it remains one of those banner releases for a faction of beatlovers who would go on to spend the entirety of their future 401ks on import white labels. Fast forward ten years later, with Big Dada's latest signing Bang On!, this aggy, bald James Franco-looking fellow from Liverpool, who's not only a clear descendant of that old prescient comp, but who inspires the same amount of energy and excitement. The beats bang like a nuclear meltdown and the most astonishing thing is that dude fully keeps up, even challenging them in a duel over who goes harder. His mouth wins. Watch the video above and download the track after the jump.
