Fifth Ave Shoe Repair’s Diagonal Lines Are A Surreal Surprise

November 29, 2010

Usually we can spot a trend coming from a mile away, but we never thought that the art-project asymmetrical lines of Sarah Williams' surrealist luggage would catch on for mass consumption. And it's Fifth Ave Shoe Repair, a brand from Sweden no less, where practicality and simplicity are essentially a religion, that's distilled the far out notion of askew suitcases and put them up for sale. Collaborating with Sweden's oldest luggage-maker Alstermo Bruk, they've merged the hardware and materials of classic luggage with the psychedelia of Salvador Dalí's drooping clocks. A surprise product, but we're stoked at the prospect of waiting in line for our TSA pat-down and seeing one of these objet d'arts coming through the X-ray scanner. Check out more cases after the jump.
