K48 Debuts New Issue and CD of Nguzunguzu, Light Asylum, and Brenmar

April 29, 2011

K48's been around forever in New York years (in real years, about 12). It's a little DIY magazine of interviews and art that has stuck it out through the city's breakneck cultural changes. Looking at old issues is a reminder of where things were at any given moment: a Lizzie Bougatsos interview from all the way back in a 2001 issue or a Terrence Koh die-cut cover in 2004.

With his latest issue, creator Scott Hug is exactly where he wants to be. Hug chose magic as the theme, and collaborated with spooksters like DIS Magazine, Robert Bittenbender and Scott Treleaven, he also pressed a CD version of the BOOKWRMZ mix they conjured for the magazine's release that features Nguzunguzu, Light Asylum, Blondes, Brenmar, among others. There's only 1,000 being made, so order it fast.
