Jack Greer Scribbles On Opening Ceremony Denim

June 15, 2011

It's a shame that life partners Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe never had a baby together, because there's no doubt that it would be the ideal shaggy-haired poster child for artist Jack Greer’s new collaboration with Opening Ceremony. Greer was given full reign to irreverently scribble, paint and patch all over 6 O.C. jackets, and in the spirit of D.I.Y., he's hoping to make denim a living and organic canvas. In an interview with VMAN about the collaboration, Greer encourages fucking up the jackets in your own way. "Once it leaves my hands I couldn’t care less what people do to it. Whether they hang it as a sculpture or burn it to the ground." We imagine they're a little too pricey to waste in a bonfire, but a few Sharpie markers might hit the spot. (via VMAN)
