Line Item: Mark McNairy’s Camo Le Coat

November 16, 2011

Sure, we could (and do) talk endlessly about the clothes we love, but for our new column Line Item, we'll be asking some of our favorite designers to tell us what they think about the best pieces from their newest collections. Today, designer Mark McNairy tells us about the newest Le Coat from his fall collection.

My first thrifted camo jacket was probably a Vietnam-era tiger stripe jungle jacket. Think Apocalypse Now. But this is a version of an LL Bean coat from the seventies. Day desert and woodland camo are just amazing to me, like a painting. It’s not just a fur collar—the whole coat is lined in not-fo’-real fur. Shit is poppin’. And I didn’t pick the fur, the fur picked me.
