Video: Holograms, “Hidden Structures”

April 05, 2012

Remember hanging out? I'm writing this at 11AM on a Thursday morning, so chances are that if you're reading this, you're doing so from an office or in-between classes, and any hanging out you did recently was squished between night time and early morning. In this Serge G.-directed video for Holograms’ "Hidden Structures" the band does some serious hanging. They sit on a roof, drive around, drink beers in a room that looks kind of bleak, and also lean up against stuff. On paper, that might sound not exactly exciting, but Holograms make itchy, tense music: borderline guttural vocals are paired with rickety synths and a sense of constant, desperate forward movement. It would be incredibly dark if it wasn't also pretty catchy as well.
