Some Ember would be a thoughtful boyfriend. Case in point, "Flowers Open" is all elongated chugs and sonnet-like verse: Petals crushed into the earth, singing out to him a curse/ Love erasing every hurt when flowers open up. Surprisingly, but not out of place, a laser fight of a breakdown emerges halfway through, which Some Ember's Dylan Travis, in an email, describes as "SKRILLY." Download the song below, check out their last album, Hotel of Lost Light, and see Some Ember and Yalls at Glasslands in Brooklyn this Sunday, August 12th.
