Video: Ghost Wave, “Country Rider”

Somewhere between garage rock and the best sounds of ’60s British pop, Kiwi (by way of Auckland) outfit Ghost Wave bangs out jangly tunes made for good company. Now they've sent a new video down the pipeline for all-out rocker "Country Rider," which captures washed-out, aimless days in the city from a band member's perspective (think rolled smokes, cheap food, lit storefronts, and bottles wrapped in thick brown bags). Though the lyrics suggests otherwise (I want to get out to the country/ but sometimes you don’t get you own way), the video does provide an escape from routine—but I won't ruin the colorful surprise. Ghost Wave's upcoming album, Ages, comes out August 27th via Flying Nun Records.
