Stream: LODRO, “If Life Was Like a Movie”

September 25, 2013

FADER PREMIERE:
If your ears are getting a bit tired of the narrative of the indie rock band taking a trip into the studio and coming home with their "most polished and professional-sounding work to date," then maybe you'll be moved by the sheer, filthy aliveness of this track from LODRO, which sounds like it was captured live in a palo santo-smoky Bushwick basement, perhaps the day after a little too much partying. It's deep and melodic and mysterious, but also loud like it has nothing to lose, and it reminds me that uncontrollably feedbacking amplifiers can actually say more than words can sometimes. LODRO is the Brooklyn based trio of former Royal Baths members Jeremy Cox and Jigmae Baer and former Friends bassist Lesley Hann, and "If Life Was Like a Movie" is the a-side of a seven-inch they have coming out on Tracer Sounds, on October 22nd. New York tourdates below.
