Download Alphabet Witches’ Gloomist LP

Best of Bandcamp: 19-year-old Steven Coulter’s Alphabet Witches deserves a listen. For fans of bedroomy singer/songwriter, etc. etc. You’ll like it.

Came across this somehow—by Steven Coulter, 19 years old, from Glasgow. (I think I like the first and last tracks best.) Gloomist was "recorded in the confinement of [his] bedroom" and it sounding like it, making for a fine sonic cross between my two other favorite new releases, Euphoria Again's singer/songwriter-y self-titled LP and Ricky Eat Acid's more ambient/electronic Three Love Songs. Both of those were released via Orchid Tapes, and thus share some common supporting staff, vibes and retweeting friend groups—would be nice to see Alphabet Witches get similar traction as well.
