Gene Noble was born in Kansas, raised in New York, and is now based in LA, and it seems like his well-traveled existence translates into some pretty heartfelt R&B songs. On "Imagination," he half-remembers a love affair, wondering Were you ever really here? Or is it just my imagination? It's a tear-jerker, too, as Noble's sensitive vocals soar over some smoothed-out production. The song is from his debut project, Rebirth of Gene, out next week.
