Double Double Whammy keeps up their winning streak, following up Frankie Cosmos and Quarterbacks albums with this odd gem by Baltimore’s Flashlight O.

FADER PREMIERE

We're on a tear of small-label success stories today—see also new albums from The Bilinda Butchers (Orchid Tapes) and Bellows (Dead Labour). Ridgewood, NJ label Double Double Whammy has been having a hell of a year with FADER favorite albums by Frankie Cosmos and Quarterbacks, and their latest is no exception. Flashlight O is the work of Baltimore's Colin Alexander, formerly of Spook Houses, who's making spectacularly precarious sounding rock songs in the vein of Microphones, Karl Blau and the sound of a table being knocked over. It's a really strange and supremely memorable album destined for summer porches and long drives, out today on cassette.
