A known figure in Atlanta's underground rap world, Scotty ATL just released "What's the Formula" off an EP due out next week. Here he works with producer Childish Major, who provides a plodding haunted beat to go along with Scotty's self-proclaimed "Playa Fly" shit. It's a sly tribute to the old-school Memphis rapper, who used to run with Three 6 Mafia back in the early 90s when there were still just selling cassette tapes. That specific artist reference goes along with the mood of "What's The Formula," which lands closer to laid back Tennessee than the lively funk of Georgia--a style that fits Scotty well, despite having "ATL" in his name.
