At The FADER, we love writing about hip-hop and R&B, but we also love seeing it live; there's something about that experience that can make you feel like you really know what an artist is about, in a specific way that often trumps reading an interview or spending hours upon hours listening to their songs. That's why we're psyched to announce that The FADER is, for the fourth year in a row, partnering with vitaminwater® to present #uncapped, a special series of live performances and DJ sets. This year our slogan is "hydrate the hustle," and we're putting a unique focus on storytelling: we want to know exactly how these artists have worked to get where they are, and we want a preview of their stories that haven't been written yet. The four events will take us from New York to Philadelphia, down to Atlanta, and then right back to New York for our big finale. We'll be documenting it all as it unfolds with pictures, videos, and detailed reports—right here—on TheFADER.com.
The first event goes down in New York City on August 19th and features performances from Killer Mike & El-P, aka Run The Jewels, Chicago's R&B prince Jeremih, and DJ Envy. More details on the invite above!
