The anticipation levels for the VFiles x Def Jam DJ Championship continue to rise. This afternoon, in an exclusive with The FADER, the multi-media fashion juggernaut unveiled the line-up for the first ever user-submited sound clash, all handpicked by the VFiles and Def Jam. Here are the final three contenders:
Eskay, a 21-year old Massachusetts-based producer that's worked with Chief Keef, Soulja Boy and Lil B.
Karman, the electronic artist/DJ hailing from Beverly Hills that's established his name with Sad Boy Affiliate remixes and producing tracks for Squadda B and Little Pain.
Similar to one of our favorite scenes in the hood movie classic, Juice, these three DJs will battle it out live and direct at the VFiles Made Fashion After-party on September 3rd at Webster Hall. The winner, chosen by Def Jam's EVP and co-head of A&R, Kyambo “Hip Hop” Joshua, will receive an all-access pass to Def Jam events during this their 30th anniversary year, a guest spot djing the anniversary blow-out party, studio time in NYC to hone their skills. and brand new gear courtesy of Traktor DJ software, the world's first pro DJ software for iOS, and a ultra portable mixer and controller Z1 package from Native Instruments. This is sure to be a NYFW showdown for the ages.
