Fool’s Gold’s Nick Catchdubs Introduces B.I.C. In a Big Way With “Wuts That”

The Bronx natives take the co-sign and go all in.

September 10, 2014

Nick Catchdubs is best known as one of the two star DJs—the other, of course, being A-Trak—that run the indie staple Fool’s Gold, purveyors of party-catalyzing releases that have deftly managed to stay just on trend for years now. The label has a history of guiding artists toward success—lest we forget that they put out Danny Brown’s career-making XXX tape—so a co-sign of theirs probably shouldn’t be taken lightly. This time it's the turn of Bronx rappers B.I.C. to be introduced to the public eye in a big way by Catchdubs, and they clearly relished the opportunity to hop on the simultaneously classic and hyper-contemporary sounding "Wuts That," a horns, bells and bass jam he mocked up just for them. Best line: At the MoMA, feeling like Hova/ Workin’ on a blueprint, watch me take ova. If you're in NYC, you can see Catchdubs and B.I.C. at Webster Hall Studio on September 19th, plus catch Catchdubs and the rest of the the Fool's Gold crew at their DAY OFF events in LA, Atlanta and Miami this fall.
