On September 29th, Oneman will release the third volume of his Solitare mixtape series, a project that sees the South London DJ recruiting great, disparate acts from the far-flung corners of contemporary hip-hop, R&B, and club music. One track is this kinda surprising—but definitely effective—pairing of London Grime MC Trim and Internet-based beatsmith Ryan Hemsworth. This situation's difficult to work in/ they say my difficulties make me perfect, Trim raps slowly, sounding dejected but not hopeless over Hemsworth's melancholic, tinny melodies. It's a vaguely overcast vibe compared to the soda pop optimism we're used to from him, but it feels totally right, like a tall glass of dark beer in the middle of the day.
