Last week, obscure Virginia rapper D.R.A.M. dropped his mixtape #1 Epic Summer, and "Cha Cha" was impossible to take off repeat. Throughout the project, D.R.A.M juggles between rapping and singing without filter, over spastic production. "Cha Cha" features a bit of an 8-bit vibe, with the Mario coin-collection sound hidden beneath layers of snare and hi-hat. But D.R.A.M.'s own goofy charm carries the record above and beyond, as he sings with the same mile-wide grin that appears on his mixtape cover. Who doesn't like to cha cha?
