SBTRKT & Ezra Koenig’s “New Dorp, New York” Short Shadows a Late-Night Hunt

SBTRKT animates a seedy New York night.

September 22, 2014

For his single "New Dorp, New York," UK producer SBTRKT produced a hazy animation starring a semi-canine stalking the streets of Gotham. The single is all pulsing midnight mauve, driven by Ezra Koenig's spiral-bound narration of a girl about town with a city to run, who'll leave a smooth operator lookin' like a bum--the Vampire Weekend frontman lands here like an East Coast Anthony Kiedis. Throughout the clip, the masked mutt slinks through dark alleys and parking lots before zeroing in on the kill: anyone who's trekked around the LES looking for 2AM eats can relate. SBTRKT's Wonder Where We Land drops tomorrow, and features Caroline Polachek, A$AP Ferg, Jessie Ware, Raury and more.
