Chance The Rapper Airs Grievances On “No Better Blues”

Chance the Rapper tasks a laundry list of beefs to task on his new song.

October 17, 2014

If there was an unrelenting joy to Chance the Rapper & The Social Experiment's cover of TV show Arthur's theme song, their latest song "No Better Blues" is a 180 turn. Chance airs out his frustrations with the entire world--racism, white people, milkshakes, haters, TV news, it goes on. However, the track doesn't have an unabashedly negative feel, in fact, Chance's nasally affectation strikes so warm that even as he sings It won't get better, it's just hard to believe him. Pessimism isn't a trait that the wide-eyed rapper carries particularly well--we're pretty sure there's brighter days ahead, even if he doesn't feel like looking forward.
