Drake Asks “How About Now” On Mysterious Leak

It’s new Drake to our ears.

October 19, 2014

This afternoon, a seventeen-year-old SoundCloud user from Marietta posted what he claims is an exclusive leak off Drake's Views From The Six. It's hard to imagine how a high schooler from suburban Georgia might have gotten his hands on something like that, and it sounds like it could have been a Nothing Was The Same-era or prior throwaway. But, even if it's not new new Drake, it's still new to us. So while we dig in on this this great Drake mystery, here it is: "How About Now," a low-key sung-spoken song about a girl didn't appreciated how good she had it until Drake was up and up:

I used to always try to burn you CDs of my new shit
You'd be like, “Who's this?” I'd be like, “Me, Girl”
You'd be like, “Oh word, true shit?”
Then ask if we could listen to Ludacris

As has been pointed out by Twitter, the song samples Jodeci's "My Heart Belongs To You." And that voicemail sampled for the intro, it sort of sounds like Nicki Minaj, no?

The original file was pulled from SoundCloud within the hour, but it's still out there for those who need to know. (via RapExclusive)
