Jazz Cartier Premieres His Rom-Com Inspired “Rose Quartz/Like, Crazy”

A warm and woozy two-acts from a rising Toronto star.

November 19, 2014

The Get Home Safe crew's Toronto-based rapper/singer Jazz Cartier returns with another double-feature, this one called "Rose Quartz/Like, Crazy." Over warm and driving production borrowed from Toro Y Moi, Cartier flexes his rising-star status in hopes of wooing a someone special until things sour in the woozy, down-tempo second act. "This piece is a delicate one, and my most conceptually driven release thus far. The detailing from start to finish is what brings the story together," Cartier told FADER.

And, a fun fact for indie rom-com heads: the song was inspired by (and samples audio from) 2011's Like, Crazy"one of my favourite movies," he admits. "There will be an appreciation if you've watched it before listening, or take the time to watch it after hearing the song."
