Ripperton Explores Human Nature With Headless Ghost’s “Let’s Fall”

Ten-minute builder from the Swiss dance vet.

December 12, 2014

"Let's Fall," the title cut from Swiss dance vet Ripperton's latest EP as Headless Ghost, is a patient slow-builder that works in some warm acid squiggles, peppy vocal samples, yo-yo synths, and static washes over its expansive ten-minute runtime. It's a sneakily expressive tune—and there's some weighty themes behind its creation. "It's hard nowadays to not have negative thoughts about the human nature and the path we borrow," Ripperton said in an email to FADER. "As i'm always including myself as part of it, i simply use this kind of tittle to sarcastically rejoice the way we make it. From "Let's fall" to "Let's hope" i used to build those tracks like a perfectly oiled remorseless machine."

Listen to it below; the Let's Fall EP is set for release on January 12 via Tamed Musiq.
