L.A. Soul Trio James Davis Premiere “Better Than You Are”
Their self-titled debut EP is due this Spring.
Who are James Davis? We got the video for their first single ever, the folk-soul ballad "Better Than You Are," and it's pretty interesting. Utilizes heavy drums and pulsing keys to sound big, vocalists/twin sisters Jess and Rey narrate feeling small in someone's shadow: I will be better than you are, better than you are, better than you could be. "Because the record holds so much weight, we held onto it for about a year," the band tells FADER. They spent the past year knocking around studios writing, "but we believed it would be an honest way to introduce ourselves."
