Missy Elliott's show-stealing, not-so-surprise guest appearance during last night's Superbowl Halftime show seems to have piqued an interest in the 43-year-old rapper's still fresh-sounding catalogue. According to Huffington Post, Missy's Spotify streams jumped 676% between kick-off and post game, while Katy Perry's streams saw only an 85% rise by comparison. And by this afternoon, the three songs she performed—"Work It", "Get Your Freak On," and "Lose Control"—had all cracked the top 10 on the iTunes Singles Chart. Billboard has also reported a 1,000% bump in sales.
Perhaps things will continue to trend this way for Missy: Diplo and Skrillex have been sitting on a remix of Jack U's "Take U There" that features not one, but two verses from Missy ready for release, according to MissInfo. The kids might be on to something with that "bout 2blow up" talk...
