Peverelist & Kowton Redraw Techno’s Borders On “Low Strobe”

Check out the basement-ready new tune from the Livity Sound pair.

Over the last few years, Bristol collective Livity Sound rose from the ashes of bass to apply their low-end theatrics to techno's brutalist framework, ending up with dance music that was tough, pleasing, and utterly original. Label don Peverelist's teamed up with like-minded dance dude Kowton for Livity Sound's first 12" release of the year, "Signal 3" b/w "Low Strobe," which drops on March 16; the B-side is as tough as ever, with plenty of low-lows and rhythmic ear-pleasing tricks. "'Low Strobe' is our first collaboration since 2013 and the first 12" of the year for Livity Sound," the duo said in an email to FADER. "We wanted to write a stripped warehouse banger for sweaty basements, we've road tested live for the past year and its great to finally see it on wax."
