Upon first approach, the band name "The Slow Revolt" sounds like something you'd find in the CD rack at Hot Topic—but, hey, April Fool's! No emo to be found here, just some seriously gossamer techno that percolates like a hot pot of coffee. The tick-tock pretty tune sees release on April 27 via FIELDS; it'll be accompanied by a similarly nice-sounding tune, "Farther." "The track is a one of two halves; anchored throughout by a circular bassline, it first plumbs fairly murky, monochrome & paranoid terrain, but switches, into a surfeit of chiming, incandescent synths that almost spill over with feeling," the Slow Revolt told FADER in an email. "I remember working several full nights to finish it, the crescendo on loop, deafeningly loud, trying to rinse everything I could from it. That tension, of a build that holds you right at it's cusp, refusing to quite deliver is something I explore in many of my tracks, and this is no exception."
