Nappy Roots Enlists Awful Records’ Micah Freeman For “Doesn’t Matter”

Hell naw!

April 15, 2015

I had to do a triple take when I spotted this video. Nappy Roots, the best selling rap act of 2002, just dropped a new clip featuring Awful Records' resident soul-stirrer Micah Freeman. "Doesn't Matter" splits the difference between Freeman's interstellar riffing and NP's homegrown, lived-in bars, the same that catapulted Skinny DeVille and Fish Scales to fame with NR anthems "Awnaw" and "Po' Folks". Very cool to see generations connect here, off the heels of Freeman and Father releasing visuals for their pulsing fight song "The Red". We hope to hear these dudes keep switching up sounds.
