Atlanta producer Phil Jones has bounced around lo-fi circles since dropping out of art school in 2013. After stints playing keys and percussion for Washed Out and warming up crowds for Toro y Moi with his band Dog Bite, Jones has started sketching out demos of his own as Haunted—stuff he hopes is truer to his unique musical slant. "I'm just riding my own wave now," Jones told The FADER when he delivered "Budder," the latest track from his upcoming, self-released So Heat EP. It's hard-edged and lumbering, with synths that weigh a ton and buried lines about sweating in the freezing cold. Look out for more when So Heat drops in two weeks.
