D.R.A.M. didn’t waste a moment: various versions of the Drake and Beyonce collaboration “Can I” appeared on the internet in the last 48 hours—one sounds unfinished, with lots of empty air, while another includes crooning from a singer named Sal Houdini—and the Virginia rapper already put out his own twist on the track. He incorporates Beyonce’s repetition of “Can I... baby?” into his verse, allowing her sampled vocal to start his sentences, finish his thoughts, and interrupt his flow on several occasions. Beyonce recently posted a video of herself dancing happily to “Cha Cha,” the track that first gained D.R.A.M. attention last fall, and this may be part of the reason for the MC’s speedy remix. She isn’t the only famous D.R.A.M. fan—the rapper hung out with Rick Rubin earlier this year.
