Omarion Released A Breezy New Single

“I’m Up” rides the “Post To Be” wave.

June 17, 2015

Omarion’s “Post To Be” is a strong contender for song of the summer—feather-light, durable—but more importantly, it’s the singer's first big hit in roughly a decade, since the Timbaland-assisted “Ice Box” came out in 2006. Omarion decided to strike while the iron’s hot by debuting a new single on L.A. radio. This one, titled “I’m Up,” sticks very closely to the formula of “Post To Be:” Instead of a DJ Mustard beat, the instrumental comes courtesy of the producer Nic Nac, whose “Loyal” and “Ayo” are studies in Mustard composition. Kid Ink and French Montana also appear on the track. Listen over at Rap-Up.
