Future-R&B Singer Lorenzo Asher And Michael Christmas Team Up For “Liverpool”

It was inspired by a virgin shroom trip and tantric sex talk.

"Liverpool," the nautical lead single off future-R&B singer-songwriter Lorenzo Asher's forthcoming sophomore project Tsukuyomi, is the crystallization of a conversation had about tantric sex while on shrooms. The scene, as he put it in an email to The FADER, looked like this: "I was with a bunch of my true hippy friends in Laurel Canyon, and they were putting me on to a new wave—a feel good wave. It was also the first time I had ever tried shrooms. We were at homie's house —who happens to do one of the character voices for Nickelodeons' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series—and my friend Kita was telling me about tantric love making. I just started jamming out on the piano singing the song."

Accordingly, the results are equal parts trippy and sexy (see: the sensual and vaguely nonsensical refrain: ride me like the waves, cowgirl), plus super vibey. Michael Christmas contributes a typically affable verse, too. Listen below, and look out for Tsukuyomi later this year.
