Nadastrom Adds Tribalistic Elements To IDYLL’s “Bad Boi” On New Remix

The song’s about “a fuck boi that lives in Texas, drives a red Miata and smokes American Spirits.”

Last December, Chicago duo IDYLL—made up of singer Angelina and producer Jojo—had plenty to say about men that break hearts and the kind of flashy cars they drove on their single, “Bad Boi.” Today, IDYLL share the official remix to their fired up song, reconfigured by L.A.-based electronic music producers Dave Nada and Matt Nordstrom, who together make up production group Nadastrom.

Interestingly, the remix strays from the original's slow grind, swapping it for a rapid melody lined with tribalistic elements that add a lightness and danceable pace to the proceedings. But the producers made sure to preserve the song's vengeful message and sly whispering vocals. “The lyrics are very straight forward and about a fuck boi that lives in Texas, drives a red Miata and smokes American Spirits,” IDYLL told The FADER via email. “Moral of the story: don't date a singer and a songwriter, and be a shitty person. You will be put on blast publicly. Amen."
