Chris Brown Denied Entry Into Australia And New Zealand

The singer’s visa request has been denied.

In an interview from earlier this month, Tyler, The Creator said that the U.K. government's decision to deny him entry based upon his old lyrics would be "opening a door for anyone to be banned." Looks like the precedent has been set; the Australian government has blocked the visa bid of Chris Brown, who was scheduled to go on tour in the country in December. According to The Telegraph, Australian immigration minister Peter Dutton revealed that Brown's visa request was turned down after Minister for Women Michealia Cash urged Dutton take a stand against domestic violence (referring to his 2009 conviction for assaulting Rihanna) and block Brown from entering the country. This ban comes the day before tickets to Breezy's shows were due to go on sale, with New Zealand also deciding to deny him a visa. The singer has 28 days to appeal the decision; no word yet on the status of the scheduled shows.
